Permanent Account Number (PAN) is a ten-digit alphanumeric number, issued by the Income Tax Department to any person who applies for it.
Any person including Foreign Nationals and artificial entities like Company, LLP, Trust etc. can obtain a PAN.
A signed Form 49A along with the identity proof and address proof of the applicant is required. For other entities, proof of incorporation or registration like Partnership Deed, Certificate of Incorporation, etc. along with the address proof is required.
The holding of more than one PAN card by an assessee is illegitimate and government requires such individuals/HUFs/non-individual.
Yes. Minor can also apply for a PAN Card and the Income Tax Department also allots PAN cards to minors without any hassles.
